Approach
Philosophy & details
Whether you are building a healthier instrument, refining CCM style, or preparing audition songs, private voice lessons are tailored to your goals as a singer.
Instruction & coaching philosophy
I am a vocal coach with a strong foundation in vocal pedagogy and a clear emphasis on vocal health. Lessons focus on how the voice works and how to use it sustainably — so you can grow range, clarity, and stylistic freedom without strain.
I specialize in contemporary commercial music (CCM), including styles common to today’s musical theatre and commercial singing. My goal is a warm, encouraging studio where singers of all ages and levels can build reliable technique and an authentic artistic voice.
Core areas of focus
- Vocal Pedagogy & Technique: Breath, registration, resonance, alignment, and coordinated phonation grounded in how the voice functions.
- Vocal Health: Sustainable practice, warm-ups, recovery, and strategies that protect the instrument for the long haul.
- Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM): Style-specific tools for pop, rock, musical theatre belt/mix, and related commercial styles — with healthy technique first.
- Repertoire & Audition Songs: Choosing cuts, polishing songs for the book, and singing with clarity and intention in the room.
Sessions are offered in-person in New York City or online via Zoom. These are private voice lessons — not acting or monologue coaching. For rates and scheduling, see the book a lesson page.
